Emily Dickinson's Poetry

For class, I've written a poem in the style of Emily Dickinson…
A cautious Songbird warbles
Dawn-lit Dewdrops shine--
Around a Coffin congregate
Mourners in a Line.
Death shadows solemn Faces,
Sparrows greet the Mourning--
A Song of Joy bursts forth--
A Memory ends the Story.

  1. I love how you juxtaposed two contrasting ideas: death and the joyous song of a bird.

  2. Yes! Very Dickinsonian in content with your use of contrasting ideas. There's also a play with mourning and morning. I'm curious about what "memory" ends the story.
